Patty’s competitive sports career began when she started swim team in grade school. While in high school, one of her first jobs was as a certified beach lifeguard and swim instructor on Long Island, NY. She competed in both track and swim team in high school. NY. Fast forward several years, and she coached grade school boys and girls basketball and swim team in Portland, Oregon.
As a lifelong runner and swimmer, it was no surprise that after competing in scores of running races, from 5K to marathon, Patty explored the world of triathlon. Her talent and hard work earned her many 1st place age group finishes in both Sprint and Olympic distances. She went on to compete in both the Half and Full Ironman distances as well.
As her love and dedication to the sport grew, so did her interest in helping other people
improve and succeed.Patty’s background studying science and nutrition in college gave her a good base for understanding the body and its mechanics. She went on to earn several coaching certifications, and started coaching runners and triathletes around the country and in Canada.
She currently coaches athletes of all abilities around the globe, and conducts swim, bike, and run clinics at various locations.
“I believe that a coach needs to look at the athlete as an individual. No two people are alike, and no two goals are exactly alike. I want my athletes to train well, race well, and when they safely cross that finish line, I want them to feel that they left it all out there.”
