I began swimming competitively in my early childhood, and continued through high school, ultimately becoming a beach life guard and swimming instructor at the age of 17. Sports have always been a key part of my life, whether it be softball, swimming, kayaking, weight lifting, cycling, or running. I coached CYO co ed swim team as well as both boy’s and girl’s basketball teams.
Around the time my kids grew up and moved out, I found myself returning to running, and ultimately, triathlons. I competed in and earned podium spots at numerous Sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, and moved on to completing in both the half and full distance Ironman races. I rediscovered my passion for coaching in 2014 and became a certified running coach. After that, I went on to become Ironman Certified to coach triathletes and then earned my Total Immersion Swim Coach certification in 2017.
The satisfaction I get when my athletes reach or exceed their goals fuels me to continue to better myself as a coach. I strive to have great communication with my athletes, and to help them navigate the challenges of training for their races and beyond. I am constantly updating and upgrading my knowledge of the sport, both as a coach and a competitor. I have had the pleasure of coaching beginners and experienced athletes to competing in their first marathons, as well as Ironman events. I look forward to serving many more athletes in the future.
